University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA)

 
In 1919, the Vermont Avenue campus of the University of California-Los Angeles was opened, with a two-year course for the training of teachers in 1708. UCLA only won the Division in 1934. From then on, the University became a benchmark in California. In 2010, the amount of research at UCLA has reached $ 1 billion, marking a record for the institution.

The selection process

UCLA uses a selection process itself, where everything is the responsibility of the student. "We haven't asked for letters of recommendation or official transcripts at the time of application or interview pupils", explains Cecilia Garcia, Assistant Director of the Department for admission to undergraduate courses. "The student must fill out a form with information that allows us to have an idea of the student as a whole, not just the notes," he says.

Scholarships

Registration expenses, insurance and housing may reach a total of $ 55568. On average, students receive $ 18,896 financial aid at the University. UCLA offers need-basedaid, which is based on family income support, and also provides University loans. In 2012, 53% of all undergraduate students received need-basedscholarship.
