我目前在美国读书，明年考研。今天从AMAZON订购的书到了，是一本经过朋友推荐买
的，在美国声誉颇佳的书：Getting What You Came for: the Smart Student's Guide
to Earning a Master's or Ph.D by Robert L. Peters。(经AMAZON上四十多位读者
的评分，平均分是最高级的五星，在AMAZON 的销售量也很大。) 一九九四年出版，
一九九七年再版。其中关于如果有A校的OFFER早来了要求早日作出回复，但B校还
没消息的情况(七十一至七十二页)，作者说明如下：

The obvious strategy is to play it safe by accepting A's offer, and then
change your mind if you later hear positively from school B. You can do
this without risk until April 15, which is the deadline decreed by the
Council
of Graduate Schools in the United States. After April 15 you are committed
to "not to accept another offer without first obtanint a written release
from the institution to which a commitment has been made."
