本来说好22：00 北京时间打来电话，可是教授不守时，直到22：30才打来电话，让我跟xx等的好辛苦！我用录音机录下了面试全程，但只能听到我的声音，所以我的回答记录比教授的问话详细。呵呵！

对话
Dr.: Hello, may I talk to Dr. U?
I: Hello, how are you doing? This is xx-U.
Dr: how are you? May I talk to Dr. U?
I: Yeah, I’m xx-U, Nice to meet you, Dr..(教授竟然跟我一样紧张，连xx-U与Dr. U 是一个人都分不出来了。不过我也没有反应过来，因为我当过医生，所以教授称我为Dr. U, 呵呵！)

接下来进入正题：

Dr: I’m calling from University of xxx，Dr. xxx and I have some question to ask you.
I: ok!
Dr: Why do you choose xxx as your application aim?
I: The first is that I visited your homepage and found that your department is strong in those fields that I’m interested in. And the second reason is that I found xxx is a great place to live. I am also interested in xxx in your school. So I chose your school as my application aim.
Dr: Have you visited xxx before?
I: No, no, I just surfing in your homepage, in web.
Dr: Are you a plastic surgeon?
I: Yeah, I have been a plastic surgeon for four years.
Dr: Why do you transfer from plastic surgeon to xxx?
I: Because I am a fun of sports. In 1999, I got a chance to be a medical
supervisor of a game in xxx Province. In that time, I became interested in xxx. I also interested in the xxx, so I became to transfer my aim to study xxx in Shanghai.
Dr: Do you still practice plastic surgery?
I: Now I am not practice.
Dr: So you are a full-time student in Shanghai?
I: Yeah, I’m a full-time student in Shanghai.
Dr: When will you finish your Master’s degree?
I: In July, this year.
Dr: What title do you want to do in your PhD study?
I: Could you explain the ‘type’? What type? What do you mean? (这里我把
title误听成 type，Ryan在旁边给我正确提示)
Dr: Usually, a PhD. will do a dissertation in his final years. (原文记不清了，大意是PhD一般都是要做论文的，你想作什么呢？)
I: I would like to do dissertation in my PhD, and I am very interested in the xxx. I want to do research on this subject.
Dr: What will your do after you finish your study? What’s your future goal?
I: My future goal is to come back to China, to be a professor in xxx, and doing research and teaching in a university. My long-time goal is to
improve the professionalization of xxx in China.
Dr: Do you still practice medicine?
I: Now I am not practicing medicine, but maybe if I can’t go to pursue my PhD program, I will practice medicine when I graduate this July.
Dr: Do you apply for other universities?
I: I have applied for the University of Virginia.
Dr: University of Virginia?
I: Yeah, and Arizona State Univeristy?
Dr: What?
I: Arizona State University.(Arizona发音不正确，教授没听懂)
Dr: Arizona State?
I: Yeah, And University of Miami.
Dr: What? University of Maine?
I: No, no University of Miami.
Dr: University of Montana?
I: No, University of Miami, in Florida.
Dr: Miami, M-I-A-M-I?
I: Yeah, Miami. My pronunciation is (poor)(我这时体会到发音正确的重要性了。不过我的Miami发音还是不对)
Dr: If there is no financial aid, do you still come to our school? (大概如此，就是问没钱来吗？)
I: I need financial aid. If I cannot get any financial aid, I cannot afford the expense in US.
Dr: Do you have any questions?
I: Dr, I want to know about how many hours per week should a Teaching
Assistant work for?
Dr: Normally, a teaching assistant work 20 hours per week, and 20 hours in his study.
I: Yeah, I see.
Dr: And Research assistant also work 20 hours a week, there are three
assistantships, one is teaching assistant, research assistant, and half
research half teaching.
I: I see, and could you tell me when can I get your decision? (decision 又读错了)
Dr: Get our decision?
I: Yeah, get your decision.
Dr: We will notice you by email or mail in next few weeks. And Dr. xxx
wants to know if you have any experience in molecular biology?
I: I have learned molecular biology in last year. I also learned cell
biology.
Dr: Do you have any research experience in molecular biology?
I: I have a few experiences in research in molecular biology.
Dr: a little research?
I: Yeah.
Dr: You have written in your resume that your have done well in the design of grafts, and you have done a research on ear lobule transportation?
I: Yeah, when I was a plastic surgeon, my director doctor and I do this
research.
Dr: How many patients do you operate with this surgery?
I: Nearly 100.
Dr: Are you the lead surgeon, or attending surgeon?
I: Attending surgeon.
Dr: Do you determine transfer from plastic surgeon to xxx?
I: Yeah, I have determined.
Dr: So thanks for your cooperate. Bye.
I: Thank you, Dr. Nice to meet you. Bye.

总结：

1．搞研究的教授与我们一样紧张，呵呵！看来他们只顾研究，而不善言辞。我们以后面试可以不要那么紧张了。
2．教授所问专业问题并不深。
3．把gter.net bbs上的电话面试全题答好应对面试没问题了。
4．xx在一旁用分机电话监听，帮了我大忙。建议同志们以后面试也采用此方法。买一个分机插座（5元）连一个分机，叫英语牛人监听，必要时会起很大作用。
5．用录音机录下对话供以后面试参考。发现我有多处语法错误。
6．发音一定要好好练，不过同志们的发音都比我好，应该没问题的。我这印度英语都可过关，你们就不必担心了。
