Hi all,

Just wanna sharing my visa hunting experience with someone who may interest in. Here is my background information. I got my degree right here in states and have worked with my current company for more than 1 year (never switched company in between).

At first, I thought I could apply visa in Mexico or Canada. But, it will cost
me too much energy, time, and money. In case that I got background check, I would get stuck in those country for ever. Honestly speaking, I was kind scared when I finally decided to apply visa in Beijing. Although many people told me that H1-B visa is very secure, I was keeping panic until I boarded the plane back to beijing. At that momment, I knew I had no way to change my mind.

Anyway, back to story, my interview date was January 7th. The whole process was pretty smooth. The officer was a lady and I guess she was not that stricted since almost all the people in front of me got visa. She just asked me what I was doing and why I didnt come back after graduation. Also, she only looked at those materials listed in website and never check my degree though.
I guess whole thing is less than 2 minute. Unfortunately, I saw many people got rejected for visiting visa.

About the background or security check, my feeling is that it depends on your job nature and industry area of your company. The chance is slim.
