i passed the ordeal-like visa interview this morning!!!! the Visa Officer is really terrible, almost destroying all my confidence. He never looked at me, did not ask for any reference materials, and glued his eyes to the computer all the time! besides, he was always running out of patience for my explanation, and rudely interrupted my answers....i have thought that i could not gonna make it today. but unbelievably, he did issue the visa. i think it is simply best of luck. the key reason to pass through the interview: 1. be smart on questions unprepared. i think this is the key reason for me to convince TT this morning that i really meant to pursuit the degree and this really help advance my journalism career back home.he threw four queries about journalism on me 1) what's the point of getting an American degree when China's media system is so different from that in the US? 2) what do you think is the most terrible aspect of journalism in China 3) do you really believe that the Chinese Government is more open on news reporting? why? and what signs? 4) why do you wanna do public affairs reporting? what is it like in China? why do you wanan take it as your career goal? ALL these questions are not on my preparation list, but thanks to my work experience and my close following of media news and books, i fought back the questions by using the SARS crisis as a example of how the media in China is more opening, how the government's attitude is changing on media operation and control and how the free freedom theory gonnna take come grounds in China in the future... 2.be fully confident about yourself 3. always wearing a smile 4. be polite 5. do not look around. stay focused 6. do not memorize your stuff 7. be accurate and concise in your answers 8. speak loudly and slowly in standard English i am pround to be a member of FUDAN UNIVERSITY and hope to see all my alumni in the US this fall then. good luck to everybody on the same track. -- MicroEdu.com 微迪留学 版权所有 © 1999-2003 webmaster@microedu.com |
