Los Angeles Districts

District 1: Beach Cities / LAX

District 2: Beverly Hills
From world-famous Rodeo Drive to 5-star restaurants and hotels, Beverly Hills is all about luxury. Rodeo Drive, the premier destination for designer brands, boutiques and haute couture shops, is home to more than 100 designers from Anne Fontaine to Saint Laurent Paris. Near Rodeo Drive is another tourist attraction: the Paley Center for Media, where visitors can browse, watch or listen to 120,000 TV shows and radio programs. District 3: Downtown / LA Metro
Downtown Los Angeles offers top attractions, exceptional restaurants and vibrant nightlife within walking distance. The spectacular LA LIVE entertainment complex awaits visitors with popular attractions such as the GRAMMY Museum, Lucky Strike Lanes and the Regal Cinemas. The STAPLES Center is home to the Lakers, Clippers, Kings and Sparks and also hosts major concerts. The Walt Disney Concert Hall houses the Music Center, the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, the Ahmanson Theater and the Mark Taper Forum. Historic Exposition Park is home to the California Science Center, the California African American Museum, the LA Memorial Coliseum & Sports Arena, and the Natural History Museum.

District 4: Hollywood
For millions of tourists, Hollywood is a must when visiting Los Angeles. This includes the glamor of Tinseltown at the TCL Chinese Theater and also the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which has honored artists for more than 50 years. The Oscars are presented in the modern Dolby Theater. Universal Studios Hollywood is a world-renowned theme park featuring the breathtaking Transformers: The Ride 3-D. Additionally, Hollywood has nearby shopping and dining at Hollywood & Highland Center and the delicious, multicultural eateries of Thai Town and Little Armenia.

District 5: Neighboring Regions
Greater Los Angeles consists of five districts: LA, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura. Greater LA’s diversity is extraordinary, ranging from desert to ocean and mountains to valleys. In the nearby San Bernardino Mountains, alpine adventures are available at Bear Mountain and the neighboring resort of Snow Summit. The landmark Rose Bowl hosts the UCLA Bruins football games, the monthly Rose Bowl Flea Market, the annual Rose Bowl and the spectacular Fourth of July fireworks display. The renowned Huntington Library is one of LA’s cultural highlights, and the Norton Simon Museum houses an impressive collection of European art. A masterpiece of Craftsman style, the Gamble House is the historic Pasadena Playhousehas been the State Theater of California since 1937. Shopping can be found in Old Pasadena, the outdoor shopping district of Paseo Colorado and South Lake Avenue.

District 7: Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a vibrant city with a beach vibe, outstanding hotels overlooking the magnificent Pacific Ocean. The city was ranked among the top 10 best beach cities in the world by National Geographic. The most famous attractions are the legendary Santa Monica Pier – which forms the end point of Route 66 – and the Third Street Promenadeand the many restaurants, shopping malls and cultural offerings that have attracted many stars for decades. Santa Monica’s award-winning cuisine is known for fresh Farmers Market ingredients, international influences and al fresco dining with ocean views. For the perfect LA beach look, head to trendy boutiques and Santa Monica Place, a three-story open-air shopping paradise. Of course, Santa Monica can also be explored by bike. District 8: The Valley
The (San Fernando) Valley is home to film studios, fine dining, and natural and cultural attractions. Many of LA’s most renowned sushi restaurants are located on Studio City’s “Sushi Row,” and numerous boutiques and thrift stores invite you to stroll. North Hollywood’s vibrant NoHo Arts District is home to the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and numerous cafes, boutiques and theaters. Nature lovers will find what their heart desires in Griffith Park, the largest city park in the USA, with the Griffith Observatory, the Los Angeles Zoo and on the miles of hiking trails. At the Valley Performing Arts Centerworld-class performances are presented in an exclusive, eco-friendly environment. The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum features the former Air Force One (a modified Boeing 707), a replica of the Oval Office and a section of the Berlin Wall.

District 9: West Hollywood
West Hollywood (aka “WeHo”) is one of LA’s premier neighborhoods, with well-known streets like Sunset and Robertson Boulevard and a dedicated gay community. The Sunset Strip is home to renowned venues such as the House of Blues and Comedy Store, vibrant Saddle Ranch Chop House and fine dining at Herringbone. Robertson Blvdis known for its exclusive fashion boutiques. Built in 1922, the Schindler House on Kings Road (833 N. Kings Rd) is considered the first house in the modernist style. WeHo has Southern California’s largest LGBT community and is home to the annual Gay Pride parade in June and the Halloween Costume Carnaval, which draws hundreds of thousands of partygoers. The Abbey is probably the most famous of WeHo’s many clubs and bars, which are primarily concentrated on Santa Monica Boulevard.

District 10: The Westside
The Westside is known for the best restaurants, exclusive boutiques and excellent cultural offers. Shopaholics will love the trendy boutiques of Third Street, the couture shops of Rodeo Drive, popular shopping malls like The Grove and Beverly Center, and the area’s landmark Original Farmers Market. Well-off Brentwood offers upscale shopping and dining on Montana Avenue and is home to the Getty Center in the Santa Monica Mountains. Culture vultures should check out Museum Row, home to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Petersen Automotive Museum, the Craft & Folk Art Museum and the Page Museum in the La Brea Tar Pits. In Century City, the Annenberg Space for Photography features digital projections as well as a traditional photography exhibit.
