It has earned an A+ rating from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for its commitment to student achievement. The district offers a variety of programs that cater to the needs of each student, such as Advanced Placement courses and career-technical courses. The Jackson R-2 School District serves about 3,800 students across seven schools throughout Cape Girardeau County. Jackson R-2 offers Advanced Placement courses along with vocational programs that give students hands-on experience in their chosen field of study. The Scott County Central School District provides educational opportunities to over 1,100 students living within Scott County’s boundaries.
