Willoughby, Ohio is a city located in Lake County, Ohio. It is situated on the shore of Lake Erie and is about 20 miles northeast of Cleveland. Willoughby is bordered by Eastlake to the south, Wickliffe to the west, Mentor-on-the-Lake to the north, and Kirtland Hills to the east. The city covers an area of approximately 8 square miles and has a population of 22,472 people according to the 2020 census.
Willoughby’s geography consists mainly of rolling hills and valleys that stretch across its landscape. The terrain gradually slopes downward from north to south with an elevation ranging from 690 feet above sea level in the north, down to 643 feet in the south.
